Connection Configure
After restart Poseidon, the main dialog will be:

All the connections you have already created will be displayed in main dialog, double-click the icon to establish a dial-up connection. If you want to set up a new connection, please click "New" button, the following dialog will appear:
4-2 Setting up a connection
There are two ways to create a new connection: "Wizard" and "Dialog setup". If you just need to set a common connection or less familiar with it, the Wizard can provide you a simple, efficient and friendly way to set up a new connection. Use Connection Wizard, you only need to guide the steps suggested in accordance with the allocation, followed by the corresponding options can be filled. see "Wizard" for details.
If you need some special configuration, or you know well about configuration, you can use "Dialog setup" to set up a new connection. Dialog setup looks like:

The window includes seven tabs, each tab can be used to set up a class attribute.
"Dial" tab include connection name, phone prefix, phone number, authentication, check "Store password" you can store password of this connection, "Customize pppd arguments" only be used when necessary.
"Network" tab include configurations of localhost's IP address and gateway address after the success of connecting. Check "Dynamic IP Address" if your ISP uses dynamic IP address assignment. In this case, your IP address will change every time you establish a connection. Check "Static IP Address" if your ISP has given you a static IP address. In that case you will also need to fill in that address in the IP Address box, and any Subnet Mask if applicable. Ask your ISP if unsure. Dynamically assigned addresses are used in the huge majority if ISP's and leaving this checked will be the right choice in most cases. Select "Auto-configure hostname from this IP" if you want KPPP to set the hostname and domain for your machine after a successful ppp connection. Check "Default Gateway" if you want pppd to use the default Gateway for your machine. This is the default. Check "Static Gateway" if you want to specify the Gateway to be used in place of the default. You almost certainly will need "Assign the Default Route to this Gateway" to be checked. This tab looks like:

"Advance" tab include configurations of pppd overtime and idle timeout, and some connectivity features is optional. You can see "Advance" tab looks like:

All of which may be the significance of the following options:
¡¾Dock into Panel on Connect¡¿When selected, after connections, the lower right-hand corner of the desktop panel can show a small flashing icon.
¡¾Automatic Redial on Disconnect¡¿After selected, if connection lost, it will auto re-dial for you.
¡¾Show Clock on Caption¡¿It will make the time connected to the establishment displayed in the title of the window.
¡¾Disconnect on X-server shutdown¡¿When checked, if X-server shutdown, automatic disconnect the link which has been established.
¡¾Quit on Disconnect¡¿When checked, if connection lost, Poseidon will quit automatically.
¡¾Minimize Window on Connect¡¿If selected, when connection establishment, Poseidon will minimize the window.
"DNS" tab is used to set domain name and DNS address list. "Domain Name" specify the domain name for your machine. DNS Address List can be set by "Automatic" or "Manual". This tab looks like:

If the link based on the login script, "Login Script" tab setup connected with the use of the login script, it provides a convenient tool for editing scripts. This tab looks like:

"Execute" tab setup different stages of applications executed, including "Before connect", "Upon connect", "Before disconnect" and "Upon disconnect". Here you should note input full path of the application, and the application procedures with the use of Poseidon users considerable authority. This tab looks like:

"Accounting" tab set up the accounting information when using this connection.
4-9 Accounting
Set up after the completion of the above click on the "OK" button to complete the establishment of a new connection.
All the connection which has been established will be displayed in Poseidon configuration window.
Select a connection and click on "Edit" button can revise the informations of it. For the connection has been established, it can be replicated with the same configuration, it can also be arbitrarily deleted.
In connection pages you can also see selected connect calls and the current use of the total flow, they can be arbitrary or all of a replacement zero.
Click "View Logs" button you can view the detailed informations of all or a single connection.
